Colleen DelVecchio of Maxady Recognized by the Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE,) and the MA Legislature as a 2024 CWE Women Entrepreneur Who Lifts Up Massachusetts

[Easthampton, MA] – Colleen DelVecchio, founder and owner of Maxady, has been honored as one of 40 inaugural recipients of the 2024 CWE Women Entrepreneurs Who Lift Up Massachusetts award. This recognition was presented at CWE's special event held on National Entrepreneurship Day, November 19, 2024, at the Massachusetts State House in Boston.  Attendees included members of the MA Legislature and Secretary of Economic Development Yvonne Hao.

This prestigious award celebrates women business owners whose work significantly contributes to the Massachusetts economy and community. Awardees are recognized for their achievements in creating jobs, fostering innovation, and providing impactful leadership.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award from CWE,” said Colleen. “At Maxady, we are committed to unlocking the full potential of individuals and businesses through strengths. Through engaging keynotes, customized workshops, personalized coaching, and impactful organizational development strategies, the Maxady team helps businesses navigate the ever-evolving landscape with resilience and strategic vision. This recognition reflects the hard work and passion we bring to uplifting our community and driving economic growth.”

In addition to recognizing women entrepreneurs, the event honored long-time legislative champions who have fostered women’s economic empowerment. Massachusetts Senate President Karen Spilka and Massachusetts Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante received CWE’s inaugural Women's Economic Empowerment Leadership Award for demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing the economic status and economic independence of women across Massachusetts.

“Women entrepreneurs are essential drivers of the Commonwealth’s economic landscape, the health of their families, and the vibrancy of their communities. Not only do we need to recognize their contributions to the health and wealth of Massachusetts, we also need to make sure women business owners have the support, services, and access to capital they require to sustain and to thrive.” said Gaby King Morse, CWEs President and CEO.

Women entrepreneurs are a critical force in Massachusetts’ economy. According to the Small Business Administration, the state is home to 243,200 women-owned small businesses, accounting for 480,000 jobs, or 15% of all jobs across the Commonwealth.  In 2023 alone, the top 100 women-led businesses in the state generated over $84 billion in revenue, spanning industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, education, and financial services.

“It’s inspiring to see the collective strength of women entrepreneurs who uplift communities and create opportunities,” said Gaby King Morse. “CWE is proud to celebrate these remarkable women and support their journeys through entrepreneurship.”
